Our Commuknitty is on a bold mission to revolutionize the textile industry in Indonesia. Our unwavering commitment is focused on dismantling the barriers of textile waste generated by the fashion industry, a major polluter in our nation.
Collaborating with local businesses and Yayasan Wisma Cheshire, an organization of handicapped artists, we repurpose their defective or excess fabrics into recycled yarns, giving purpose and life to waste.

Textile waste
Textile waste is discarded fabric or clothing, often from manufacturing or consumer use, posing environmental challenges due to its non-biodegradable nature.
Bantar Gerbang, Indonesia's biggest landfill, gets more than 8000 tons of garbage per day from Jakarta alone with majority of waste being textile waste.
By 2027, Bantar Gerbang is expected to be full as one of the country's biggest emitter, signaling the rapid pace of environmental degradation.
