photo booth fundraiser
In recognition of our partnership with Yayasan Wisma Cheshire, Our Commuknitty organized an internal (within school) photo booth fundraiser. Through the collective efforts of our community, we successfully raised Rp. 6,000,000 or approximately 376 USD.
These funds will greatly contribute to enhancing the facilities at Yayasan Wisma Cheshire, a boarding house dedicated to supporting handicapped artists. We are immensely grateful for the generosity and support extended by everyone involved in making this initiative a success.
A Recap of Our Fundraiser
First workshop
On March 16, 2024, our team had the privilege of visiting Yayasan Wisma Cheshire to initiate our inaugural workshop. This workshop served as a platform to educate and empower artists on the transformative potential of repurposing textile waste generously contributed by local micro and medium-sized businesses, alongside donations from private collections, into sustainable yarns.
Throughout the workshop, participants not only learned the practical skills necessary for this endeavor but also gained insight into the underlying purpose and significance of our initiative. We discussed the profound impact of our collective efforts in addressing Indonesia's foremost waste challenge while concurrently fostering a culture of productivity and sustainability within our community.
On March 30, 2024, our dedicated team hosted our second workshop at Yayasan Wisma Cheshire. This workshop served as an opportunity to impart valuable skills to artists, focusing on the art of crafting our sustainable yarns into our distinctive signature coasters.
